desert excursions

Day 1
We start from Dahab at 8 am driving for one hour to Wadi Gazala. An optional camel ride of one and a half an hour will bring us to Salama Canyon. Hiking through the canyon is only allowed with a local guide. After the hike, we have time to relax and enjoy our lunch before we ride our camels to Wadi El Disco. Here we will enjoy our dinner and spend the night under the stars.

Day 2
After breakfast, we go for a one and half hr camel ride to the Melahes Oasis. On our way, we will have to cross a dried-out watered basin with beautiful colored rock formations. The Oasis is fed by 3 different springs, which are only flowing water several days a year.
After lunch, we will slowly return to Wadi El Disco, where we will have dinner and spend our second night under the stars.
Day 3
After breakfast, we will drive to the Nawamis. These are 5000-year old tombs, built by the early nomadic tribes of the Sinai. We will also visit a traditional Bedouin village nearby. Then we will pay a visit to the ruins of an ancient village in Wadi Islaf. Then its time for lunch. We will continue crossing through Wadi Islaf, to see the tomb of Sheikh Abu Taleb. This Bedouin sheikh is buried on top of a hill in the middle of the wadi, a great honor, and respect. We continue through Wadi Islaf to see more of the nawamis tombs. Then we will go to el Karm ecolodge, where we will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 4
After breakfast at the ecolodge, we will take our jeep and take you through the spectacular Wadi el Akhdar to Wadi Zaranik. Here we can find some of the best rock inscriptions in the area. A short hike through the mountains will bring us to a very special historic site and give us the greatest views of the desert. After lunch in the desert, we will drive back to Dahab.
